Folder color bars

I am working on iMac. version 10.9.5.

Is there a patch or other download available to get the full folder color bars back on on iMac 10.9.5

If not then Apple has taken away the best tool available for speed in finding files.

When working with a customer it is essential to be able to reference directly the file needed. Either in person or on the phone the full folder color bar is necessary to speedily locate specific files in a hierarchy.

Why and what is the reasoning behind replacing full color folder color bars with dots? The dots are useless!

When looking through files without color bars the next natural step is to read the text. You do not look at the dots. The dots are off to the side and need to be visually resorted when you look at them. This is a critical mistake by Apple and a result of "over design." Apple should have left them alone. All files are now just text with dots, where they where once easily identifiable color bars. This is a design mistake by Apple!

Again...Is there a patch or other download to get the full folder color bars back on iMac Mavericks?

There may be 3rd party products (e.g. XtraFinder) that might help you.

There is also the ability in the Finder Sidebar to click on a tag (dot) color to display that tag's files throughout the drive. I use this when I want to see all my PDF files on the drive (red dot) so I can find the one I want to view. Same with Pages and Number files.
